CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for the community to support the farm so that the farm can, in turn, support the community.

SPRING SHARES are the jewels of the season. Spring brings specialty tulips, anemones and ranunculus. Offerings tend to be straight bunches of 10-15 stems of these exceptional flowers with no filler. Therefore, the weekly offering is smaller in size than Summer or Fall but the blooms are truly exquisite. The spring season runs for 6 weeks and starts mid-late April. Above are a few images of what you will get in our Spring CSA Share.

This year we plan to combine the summer and fall share into one 14-week packed with dahlias! We promise! CSA begins July 19th!

We offer weekly pickups at the following locations :

Tues - NYC and Upstate via the 607 CSA

Weds - Mt Tremper (5-8pm)

Thurs Hudson (5-7pm) Lexington (On Farm, 3-7pm)

Saturday - Windham ( 9-1)

Exact 2022 locations will be updated in March. For additional info, scroll down to the Frequently Asked Questions section at the bottom of this page.

Make your flowers last longer

The most important things you can do for your flowers are to keep them cool and hydrated. This means : out of direct sunlight, off of any appliance that gets warm and away from a candle or fire. Make sure that all of the stems are submerged and, if you can, re-cut the bottom inch or so and fill with fresh water every few days. A drop of bleach in also helps.

Arranging tips

This is a link to a video created by Hops Petunia, a Kingston florist whom we are proud to supply with lots of our local flowers. Very few florists actually use local flowers and we love to support those who support us. This is a great video for basic arranging.

Where your support goes

Approximately 70% of your support goes to paying our crew, 20% goes to paying for the seeds, bulbs, transportation, etc and about 10% goes to paying our bills and taxes. We hope to break even for the first time this year. We tell you this to try to educate the public about the realities of small-scale farming. Sadly, this means that farming is inaccessible to a lot of people who want to do it. The margins are slim and the road to profitability is long but, with your support, we can get there

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of flowers will I get?

In spring you will see : tulips, ranunculus, butterfly ranunculus & anemones. Late spring/early summer the specialty snapdragons and poppies get going. Next comes the warm weather bounty of zinnias and some very special lisianthus. Then we roll into dahlia season. Late summer and fall are also when our eucalyptus is at it’s peak. And finally, our heirloom chrysanthemums followed by dried flowers round out the year.

Can I add an extra bouquet to my pickup?

Yes. And, as a current or former CSA member you get a discount on all bouquets for the rest of the calendar year!

Can I visit the farm?

Yes and no :) We do not have additional staff to allow for drop in visits but you can come if you book one of our U-pick Dahlias. These happen every weekend in July!

If I can’t pick up my flowers, can you hold them til the following week or give me two bouquets at my next pickup or refund me for the week I missed?

We are sorry but we can’t for a few reasons. First, we use the subscription model as a way to try to have as little waste as possible. Knowing in advance how many bouquets we will need to provide enables us to grow, harvest and maintain close to what we will use. If we have changes from one week to the next it throws off the supply chain of these perishable products.

Also, we are too small at this point to track and accommodate the paperwork required to make these changes from week to week. We focus our energy on growing, harvesting and delivering outstanding flowers without pause for 22 weeks straight. This is a demanding schedule and is about all we can manage.

However, you can have a friend pick up for you or ask us to donate them for you.

Why is my bouquet bigger/smaller this week?

Spring bouquets are smaller because they are 100% premium stems, no filler. Spring flowers have also been cared for and babied all winter in our tunnels. They require the most work and are the most expensive flowers we sell. We also think they are some of the most beautiful and cant imagine not offering them to you! Summer offers the widest array of foliage and flower options and bouquets are bigger. Fall is a dahlia bonanza. When we have extra, we try to share it with our members. So, some weeks you may get an extra large bouquet.

Can I pick up my flowers the next day?

Most of the pickup locations can only accommodate us on the specified day and time indicated. Some have more flexibility and some have specifically asked us to make it clear to our members that they cannot hold flowers. Please try to pick them up during the designated time or have a friend pick them up for you.
